The CLK 55 AMG is set apart from other models of the Mercedes Benz CLK by the combination of its five-speed automatic transmission with the fact that it runs on an SOHC V8 engine that has twenty-four valves. This particular model is still being sold (despite the cease in general CLK production) as a cabriolet, although the CLK 55 AMG coupe is now out of circulation in America. The base price of the CLK 55 AMG cabriolet is roughly around eighty-five thousand US dollars – a bit steep for some people who don't know their cars, but for the true aficionado/enthusiast, this price is just right. The CLK 55 AMG coupe was sold at a base price of sixty-nine thousand and nine hundred US dollars, but is currently being sold at variable prices now that it seems to have been discontinued.
